Unschool Zoo science and around the world

Reid Park ZooReid Park Zoo was small but had many animals throughout the zoo.  It was fun seeing live animals after spending the day at the Sonora Desert Museum. We enjoyed reading the signs about each animal and I enjoy quizzing the girls about certain facts to see if they remember from the last zoo. I didn’t take a lot of pictures this time because Munchy and Hubby got to practice some photography.  She is really enjoying her photography classes and has now finished 2 beginner photography classes on lynda.com. Unfortunately, the pictures didn’t turn out because we were working with the manual setting and there was a lot of shade around the zoo.  As we explained to Munchy she did nothing wrong and this is a learning process.

After a fun day at the Reid Park Zoo, we came home and played a very fun game called “Around the World Boardgame“. In this game, we learned about languages, people and places, geography, and culture and customs from all over the world. the girls came up with the idea that if they answered mom’s questions they not only earned a chip but they also earned a chocolate chip.  We were competitive and even I learned things from around the world I didn’t know.  The best part if you don’t know an answer you can always google it later or during the game depending on how you want to play. I suggest an Illustrated Map of the World for Kids (Children’s World Map) can look at it to help guess the answers.
