EdVenture Children’s Museum

Just because we have stopped traveling doesn’t mean that the adventure and education will not continue.  This week we visited EdVenture Children Museum in Columbia (which is the biggest children’s museum in the South) where fun and education go hand in hand.  The hubby had so much fun I lost him for an hour while he went through the museum and played with all the neat gadgets by himself. Sandbox

The Sandbox, This museum is actually for kids ages 2-8, but it was fun for my 9 year old just the same. They had a lot of stuff to play with in a little 2 story building. On the first floor, moon sand, building area, ship, rock wall, camping gear, dress up, ball maze, cooking, restaurant stuff, chief, cash register, and arts and crafts room. Unschooling adventure: The play Skippy Jon Jones

Off on anther adventure to see the play, Skippy Jon Jones. I forgot how close Statesboro is to Savannah, only 1 1/2 hrs. Today we went there with some homeschool friends to see the play Skippy Jon Jones. It was a musical that the college (Georgia Southern) put on for lots of elementary kids. Annie Shamrock Run

The cowgirl won a contest to meet the two princess,Princess Shawnee and Princess Lilly. It was so cute I had to put it on the web. Yesterday we went to the play Annie, Savannah Christian drama team did a assume job, and the girls really loved it.  We went with some friends of ours and then after walked around River Street while we waited for the Shamrock Run. Today the girls just played all day…. They played with there dolls, barbies, little pet shop animals, made a paper stage and play area for them. The girls sang and put on a concert for me several times. They made me lunch, did the dishes, help clean up our junk room. The girls went to the playground and set up the computer.
