Roadside Fun: Name the longest running roadside attraction in Florida?

Everyone close your eyes and guess were the most magical place on earth?  No, a certain mouse does not live here but there are magical creatures that sing and dance under water.  These creatures are half-fish and half beautiful women. The Seminole Indians named these enchanted, warm waters “little spring” or “winding river”. Gloups spent the day with manatees at the Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park

Did you know that manatees were once mistaken for mermaids? Gloups had never seen a manatee and since we are so close to the park, we thought it would be fun to visit the Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park. We started our adventure taking the nature trail hike so that Gloups could see all the animals ($35 for whole family). Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park is home to a 55-year-old hippo that was born at the San Diego Continue reading

Fulltime Families Scavenger Hunt at Castaway Rally

Our all-time favorite activity at the Fulltime Families Castaway Rally was the scavenger hunt.  It was educational, fun, entertaining, and, best of all, it kept the girls entertained for hours.  Instead of our family (or me) taking all the pictures, I enlisted the girls to get as many pictures as they could.  They had a blast running around with their trusty iPhones, taking silly pictures, and getting as creative as possible to earn even more Continue reading

Roadside fun: Adventure in a building

Fun adventures are be found everywhere. This adventure was all about a building and what may be inside. I think the adventure was more about what we might get to eat. On our very last day at the happiest place on earth, Disney, we found it. The most amazing building ever seen by any child.  The girls insisted that we stop and of course try some of some ice cream (it was amazing).   They offer Continue reading

Horseless Carriage Adventure continues in Sarasota, Florida

horseless cariage

The Horseless Carriage adventure continued today with more driving and navigating.  My mother and father are in heaven driving their 1914 Pierce Arrow around town with two of his favorite granddaughters. Today they visited O”Brian’s Family Farm, a hydroponics farm that grows strawberries, and blueberries, along with 40 different varieties of cauliflower and broccoli.  The farm also offers homemade honey and pollen. The girls got a chance to learn a little more about hydroponics, which Continue reading
