It is always fun to get together with friends and our extended Fulltime Families. When we started traveling a little over a year ago, we joined an amazing group called the Fulltime Families. They have over 800 members and counting. The families all travel full-time in an RV (camper) and homeschool their kids.
We meet with over 30 families at a rally, held twice a year, in Tampa, Florida. We were so excited that we left early to go meet some old and new friends at the Lazy Days RV campground. The rally officially started Thursday, but we had an unofficial meet Wednesday night.
Fulltime Families Castaway Rally
We started the rally with a brunch for lifetime and charter members, followed by classes to help with your travels. Classes offered to learn how to earn money on the road, thousand trails membership question and answer sessions, and how to travel to Alaska without breaking the bank. While the adults took classes, the kids had fun educational activities, crafts, and movies. We had a crockpot potluck, meet and greet, dessert gatherings, and two movie nights.
The girls enjoyed seeing old friends and meeting new friends. They were especially excited because all these girls homeschool and travel full-time and therefore have a lot in common. We allowed some new and old friends to spend the night, which never happen in our brick house. They had the freedom to roam the campground as long stayed together and were on their best behavior. At this rally, there were lots of families that just started traveling and lots of girls that were ages 8-13.
