Dr Seuss Day

Dr. Seuss birthday was today so we decided to have a Dr. Seuss day.

The girls played on Suessville.com while I got ready to go into town. Then Belle and McKenzey read green eggs and ham while I actually made Green Eggs and Bacon – I simply just added green food coloring to egg white and scrambled the eggs.

They read ABC and Hop on Pop on the way to the library. At the library we got the only two Dr. Seuss books left, If I Ran the Zoo and Bartholomew and the Oobleck.  When we got home we read If I Ran the Zoo and I had the girls write rhyming sentences about three animals that they would have in their zoo.

Bartholomew and the Oobleck

This is the recipe we usedhttp://www.kinderteacher.com/oobleck.htm

Then we read the Bartholomew and the Oobleck and made oobleck – and did some science stuff. They came home after the movie and played with it for an hour or so instead of watching tv – yep instead of watching tv.

The last and final fun part is we read the Lorax on the Ipad, got the Lorax forest – (free) and watched the 2D version on YouTube and then invited the homeschool kids in Savannah to go with us to the movie that just came out today.

The girls thought the movie was assume, and the lesson to try protect nature and don’t cut down all the trees because then the birds and fish will leave.
