4H was about invertebrates and the different Phylum (The term phylum is one of seven major categories that are used to classify organisms) that each animal fits into….. Chordates/sponges/cnidarian/Arthropoda/mollusks The kids were given questions Invertebrates about each category that they had to put under each phylum, they were then given pictures and we had to guess which phylum they went under. Orienteering – learning the competitive form of land navigation

Surfen waves becoming surf sleuth investing the waves

Today we went to Burton 4h on Tybee Island and became surf sleuther’s. A surf sleuth is a person who investigates the surf to see what animals my be living in it. We did this by using a large net, 10-15 kids walking out in the water and scooping up what in the water.  The kids had a blast playing on the beach. Friday we met up with the Savannah Home School group and went to Tybee for science.  The 4H gives a science lesson once a month for the kids.  This time we learned about reptiles (snakes, lizards, alligators).
