August skating fun and making a bust

Once a month we get together with all the homeschoolers all over the Savannah area and skate at SK8city in Pooler Ga.  They have made us a really great deal so that we can skate when the normal kids are in school and gave us one heck of a deal on the price.  Only $7 for 2 hours of skating, skate rental, 1 piece of pizza, small drink, and 4 tokens.  The kids love it and look forward to it every month.  This time we tried out the laser tag game which is only $2 for one token and the fun part is all the kids can try it at once – So $2 goes a long way.

After all the fun of skating we tried to a new kit that we got from a friend.  We made a bust of Harry Potter.  I made the girl read the instructions, make the plaster mixture, and then pour it into the mold.  I thought that we added way to much water but it turned out pretty good for our first try.  Next it Dumbledore – I just love anything Harry Potter.

Hugs has finished reading a solar system book and worked on her report she is going to  do for co-op on Wednesday, I hope!! Munchy is reading a biography Jane Goodall and hopefully will finish that up sometime next week.  That child hates to read so this has been like pulling teeth with no Novocaine.  The girls have been also working on Khan  Academy and have been really making good progress, but more on that later.
