Solar Eclipse Glasses at Steve Spanler Science

IMG_5205We took five Olympic hopefuls to Olympic Park in Park City, Utah.  Ok they may never make it that far but we still had a lot of fun learning about past Olympians and  zipping, climbing, sliding and playing in the park.

IMG_5239The star today was our friend, Jumping Bean, from Savannah who now lives in Utah.  We got the opportunity to see her learn how to do free style downhill skiing jumping into a swimming pool. We also got to see National and Olympic team going down the big slopes and do spins, flips, swivels and crazy aromatics before landing in the pool.

IMG_5264While Jumping Bean was at her camp for the day the other three big girls and one little guy  got to try out the obstacle courses, slide down a big slide, and zip line across the sky.  This was on Munchy’s and Huggs travel a list so they were super excited.  I was super proud of them as they zipped lined to the drop tower and jumped off.

In the Alf Engen Ski Museum we learned about the history of skiing. The kids learned about the evolution of ski clothing and how Alf Engen was the fore runner into making skiing what it is today.  There were interactive touch screen displays, videos, virtual reality ski theater, games and topographical maps. We were also able to see highlight of the 2002 Winter Olympics.
