Kid approved meal: meatball sandwich with yellow squash dippers

he Kid approved meal with a meatball sandwich with yellow squash dippers. McKenzey decided to help me make dinner and then we took pictures of her food creations.  She came up with the menu (with some help) and then helped me cook the whole thing.

She started off by making a meatball sandwich with melted cheese on a wheat bread. We made a vegetable side of squash dipped in eggs fried in olive oil and sprinkled with Parmesan cheese and pepper.

Mac cut all the squash by herself and laid them to the side.  We took pictures of her vegetables after she set up some food art. I then helped me dip the squash in egg and we cooked them in a frying pan. I cooked it  and she heavily sprinkled the squash with the Parmesan and pepper. Then Belle got involved and toasted all the buns and put mayo on them. The girls put the food on the plate very carefully for each person.  Here are some of the food still life pictures she took.

Magic School Bus

After we made a yummy dinner for the whole family we decided to do a little science.  Our favorite Unschool tool is to use Magic School Bus. We do a different packet every month.  The girls get so excited when one come in the mail, we never know what it is going to be.  We like finding YouTube video that goes along with each packet.  They practice reading, following directions, science, math, research and so much more.
