Nemo and his friends helped our homeschool group learn about the difficulties facing aquatic animals in the wild and ways they can help them. The kids learned observational skills to identify a variety of fish species, as well as predators and prey. The kids teamed up to brainstorm creative solutions for protecting our oceans and marine life.
The class started off by getting head phones so they could talk to teacher while they were walking through the exhibits. The first stop was behind the scenes to see where they feed the turtles, dolphins, manatees, fish and sharks. The kids saw a diver cleaning the dolphin tank, and then the instructor showed them 3 turtles up close, 2 logger head, 1 green sea turtle, but unfortunately they said Munchy was not allowed to the pictures.
The class then played several games, like measure the fish, sea turtle tag, and make an ocean Ted (Turtle Excluder Device) net. They made a conservation puzzle and then we finished by riding “The Seas with Nemo and Friends”.
After class we finished our day by visiting some of our favorite countries in Epcot. We snaked on food around the world, watched educational movies and rode some of your favorite rides.
